While vitamin C isn't exactly the most riveting supplement on the market, it is absolutely critical for your overall health and longevity, especially as an athlete.

That being said, there's really only a couple things that you need to look for in your vitamin C which: is purity and bioavailability. When it comes to SwissRX Vitamin C, our high standards and pharmaceutical-grade ratings ensure you are getting the purest supplement possible.

We've also knocked it out of the park when it comes to bioavailability as our Vitamin C is made from Acerola Fruit. This is how vitamin C is found in nature. This means that your body may be able to recognize it better, boosting it's bioavailability (how much your body can use).

Why Do Athletes Need Vitamin C?

  • As an athlete, you may be more susceptible to getting colds and coughs which that a sign of your immune function is disregulated, likely from intense exercise. Vitamin C is a critical antioxidant needed to regulate immune function and keep the sniffles at bay (which means you can train more)

  • Vitamin C is huge for balancing inflammation and recovering faster. It will help reduce inflammation without completely wiping it out which means you can recover properly and get back to training the next day.

  • Supports deficiencies that occur from chronic NSAID use (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory). We don't recommend using NSAIDS (try Swiss RX Turmeric and/or Recovery Enzymes instead!) because they can have long-term negative effects on your liver and cells. However, if you are using NSAIDs currently or have in the past, you should definitely be taking Vitamin C as it will help counterbalance the toxic build-up caused by NSAID use.

  • Vitamin C is also a crucial building block of soft tissues, such as tendons and ligaments. For this reason, our collagen contains Vitamin C. For more acute injuries, supplementing Vitamin C can help speed up the recovery. Total C is a key component of our Soft Tissue Complex
